Meet the Windy City ThunderBolts — your south suburbs’ own professional baseball team, and one of JULIE’s favorite community partners.
Based out of Ozinga Field in Crestwood, the ThunderBolts have been bringing affordable, family-friendly baseball to Chicagoland since 1999 as a proud member of the Frontier League, an MLB Partner League. We love showing up where Illinois families already are, and this season, Shovelton Springs has taken over the playground at Ozinga Field, so the fun starts well before the first pitch.
JULIE and the ThunderBolts are both proud Illinois institutions, and together we show up for the community in a big way. From branded giveaways to family days, this is what it looks like when safe digging meets a summer Saturday at the ballpark.
Additionally, Shovelton Springs isn’t just online anymore. JULIE has transformed the playground at Ozing a Field into a full Shovelton Springs experience, wrapped in colorful, character-filled educational panels that turn playtime into learning time. While the kids climb, slide, and explore, they’ll find themselves surrounded by JULIE’s beloved critters, an underground pipe map, a flag color-code guide, a scavenger hunt, spot-the-difference puzzles, and a handy “When do you call 811?” activity — all woven right into the playground walls.
